Materials
There are several different types of material a yoga blanket are available in. We'll discuss some of the most popular and the best practices for getting the most out of your yoga blanket.

Wool Blankets - Today's wool in not scratchy. Recycled wool not only helps the environment, but is also extremely soft and durable. Wool yoga blankets are available in 50% to 80% Wool / Polyester bland.
Blended Blankets - Blends are the most common materials used to produce yoga Blankets. Blends are generally a mix of acrylic, polyester and cotton. This greatly reduces the prices. Depending on the country of production most of the material used in blended blankets are recycled from area textile manufacturers, or regenerated clothing. All blankets, know matter the country should be cleaned before use.

The Cotton yoga blanket is popular among yogis looking for a more natural material made yoga blanket. The blanket is known for its size and weight. Blankets are available in a 52.5% to 85% new recycled Cotton, and 15% to 47.5% Polyester and Acrylic blend to a 100% cotton version. Blankets range in size from 78” to 83” in length and 54” to 65” in width and a weight of 2.8 to 4lbs. The Style Yoga blanket is used in restorative yoga and is perfect blanket to cover you up in Shavasana to keep your body as you cool down. Blanket can be rolled up and used as a bolster, folded in to a meditation cushion, but can be used in most styles of yoga when a blanket is needed. 100% cotton blankets are a perfect substitute for yogis with allergic reaction to acrylic or polyester blend yoga blankets.
Note: Because of the nature of the new recycled cotton materials, cotton blankets appear to be thin, the yarn is spun very tight and will loosen with the first few washings thickening the blanket and giving it a fuller look. Like most cotton products these blankets will also soften with washings.

These yoga blankets are popular among yogis looking for the thickest and heaviest blanket available. The patterns range from Aztec to Southwest and everything in between. Blanket weight ranges from 3.5 to 5 lbs and size ranges from 80” to 86” in length to 60” t0 64” in width. Most plush blanket don’t have tassels and are seamed around the edges. Blanket work best if extra padding is needed for problem knees or rolled for a softer style bolster under the back.
